G Road Test - FAQ

It remains valid for 5 years from the date of issuance of your G1 licence.

A G2 licence is the second level of graduated licensing, allowing you to drive without an accompanying driver, with certain conditions applying to those under 21. A full G licence permits driving a car, van, or small truck without restrictions.

They include insufficient mirror checks, failing to assess blind spots, merging too quickly or closely, not maintaining a safe distance, and driving too slowly.

The G test fee is $91.25, and booking is required after 12 months of G2 licence experience.

From 20 months up to 5 years after passing the G1 test.

There is no set number; the test assesses overall driving ability.

It uses a point system, and you must achieve a score of at least 80 to pass. A serious mistake could result in immediate failure.

The G2 test is generally seen as the less challenging of the two.
